A rather charming, extended 1930's terraced three bed house with South-facing 50 ft garden, large kitchen/ dining room and off road parking. Fantastic bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower; modern kitchen; further wc; and a pretty living room with fireplace.

Wolsey Road is a quiet residential street in the ever popular suburb of Cutteslowe, immensely popular with families. There are many lovely open spaces, most notably Cutteslowe Park which is acres of picturesque common land. The school within walking distance is well regarded and this also feeds to Cherwell, a fine Secondary school. Locally all the amenities of Summertown and Central Oxford are a short distance away (with frequent buses). Access to road and rail transport links, schools, open park land, frequent bus services etc is peerless, and the new mainline train station within less than a mile (Oxford Parkway) is elevating this to one of the easiest addresses to commute from - services reach London Marylebone in under an hour.

When I last sold this house, it was already one of the best of any in the road. The extension and renovation work done wasn't just pleasant, it changed the whole way the house works. Since then, the house has continuously improved with tweaks and extra touches increasing that feeling, not least being the bathroom which would not be out of place in a five star hotel. It is also practical, with great storage as well as a flow that seems instantly natural and easy to use. Add to that off road parking, and a lovely secluded garden with shed and new decking, and it's all you could need.

..

The doorway opens into an elegant hallway, an impression further reinforced by the lovely timber stairs rising to the rear. Ahead, the door leads into a bathroom that is a far higher spec than you might anticipate. Art Deco styling combining with modern units ergonomically designed to max the space have created a place of some luxury. The large shower occupies most of one end, with a soaker head as well as shower hose. If you prefer a longer soak, the roll top bath is a real treat rarely found in a house of this type. The room is also well lit with modern downlighters. From the hall, a further door on the left opens into the living room. With a tall ceiling and a pretty fireplace, this is a very inviting and open space. It is also well proportioned, amply accommodating a large suite of furniture with room to spare, and underfoot it a wooden floor. The large window to the front brings in a lot of natural light, and the view across the front garden is pleasant, with the houses opposite pleasingly far enough away to afford a feeling of space. At the rear the door opens to the kitchen. The extension has created a significant extra space, so much so that a breakfast table and six chairs easily fit to the rear, with enough space for a sofa, shelves etc. Beyond it the attractive garden is visible through glazed double doors that open out onto the decking. To the front, modern units run round two sides, with a peninsula providing extensive extra storage as well as a stainless steel sink and drainer. It all adds up to an all-day living area for the whole family.

...

Upstairs, the bedrooms are all ranged off a light landing with a wood floor. Unusually, the over-stairs cupboard has been converted to provide an upstairs wc, particularly ideal for children at night, complete with the rather fun touch f a porthole window above the stairs. Beds one and two are both ample double rooms, with the same exposed wooden floors running through. Both also feature a generous range of fitted wardrobes. The smallest bedroom is more likely to be used as a generous single or a study, however at more than 8 ft square it would accommodate a double bed with ease if needed.

....

Outside, to the front there is a gated, gravel parking space for one car on a driveway flanked with a range of shrubs and flowers. To the right, an arch shared with just one neighbour leads under the house to a gate providing access to the rear garden. Here the space opens out into a very appealing, South-facing garden centred around a lawn. Borders with a wide array of plants run down both sides, culminating in a pleasant seating area at the bottom next to a timber shed. Behind the kitchen, the decking is brand new, an ideal barbecue space or just a lovely place to sit on a sunny day.
