Description
This deceptively spacious 2-bedroom Grade II listed cottage sits in the convenient location of Elliott Plain. The cottage has beautiful character features throughout including exposed beams and a stone fireplace. There are two good sized double bedrooms, and courtyard garden that overlooks the Dean Burn River. This is all within walking distance of the town centre and local amenities.
On entering there is a small hallway for coats and shoes which then leads into the living room. The living room is a great size and has ample room for a range of lounge furniture along with dining table if desired. The room has a good amount of light due to the large south facing sash window to the front. It is also partly opened through to the kitchen at the rear of the property. It also benefits from a large, exposed stone fireplace.
The kitchen is at the rear and has a range of floor and wall mounted units with space for electric oven, fridge and freezer. The kitchen opens to a rear conservatory which has plumbing and electric for a washing machine and tumble dryer. From here you can access the courtyard garden.
The courtyard garden is a pleasant space and can easily accommodate a table and chairs along with a variety of potted plants and shrubs. You can also enjoy the background bubbling of the Dean Burn River at the rear.
On the first floor is the large master bedroom which has a large south facing sash window to the front, with exposed floorboards and benefits from fitted wardrobes to one side.
The family bathroom is a good size and has a coloured suite with shower over the bath along with large built in storage cupboards.
The second bedroom is on the top floor and is a generous size, which can fit a super king bed. it also enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding countryside from the Dorma window at the rear.
The property requires some modernising but is deceptive in size and offers a great space for someone looking for their first home or a possible investment. It is being sold chain free, and a viewing is highly recommended.
