Interior – Enter through a welcoming hallway with a grand staircase leading to the first floor. The impressive sitting room, complete with a feature fireplace, flows seamlessly into the stunning, recently remodeled garden room. This space, with its vaulted ceiling, skylight, and French doors opening to the patio, offers beautiful views of the garden—an ideal spot to relax and unwind. A handy cloakroom with storage leads to a newly fitted guest WC. The separate dining room opens into the refitted luxury kitchen, which features sleek cabinetry, quartz-effect countertops, and a central island with a breakfast bar. Integrated appliances include a double electric oven, gas hob, extractor fan, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. The utility/boot room provides additional storage, plumbing for a washing machine, and access to both the garden and the garage.
On the first floor, a spacious gallery landing connects four double bedrooms, including a master bedroom with fitted wardrobes. Completing this floor is a large, stylish bathroom featuring a freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle.
Exterior – The property is approached via a well-maintained front garden with hedges and a sizable driveway. Side access leads to a substantial two-tiered rear garden. The large paved patio offers plenty of space for outdoor entertaining, while steps descend to the main lawn, which includes an orchard area.
Locality - Alton is a picturesque village located in Staffordshire, England, renowned for its scenic beauty and historic charm. Nestled within the Churnet Valley, Alton boasts a rich heritage, with landmarks such as the Gothic-style Alton Castle and the adjacent St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. The village is perhaps best known for being home to the popular Alton Towers Resort, one of the UK's premier theme parks, which draws visitors from all over the world. Surrounded by rolling hills and lush countryside, Alton offers a tranquil retreat with a vibrant community spirit, making it a delightful destination for both residents and tourists seeking to explore the idyllic landscapes of Staffordshire.
Owner's perspective - "We have lived at No. 4 for 29 enjoyable years. At our first viewing we were blown away by the open space in the rear garden. But the house was in need of some TLC. Over the years we’ve put all our efforts into our home. Making several changes, updates and additions. We have grown as a family in it. Enjoying the outdoor space at every opportunity with family and friends around. The surrounding area is also a delight. Alton is a sociable village with lots going on. Several pubs, a large village hall, a decent shop and separate post office. There is also St Peter’s First School which feeds in to both Cheadle and Uttoxeter Schools. There is the nearby Dimmingsdale Valley with fantastic walks and the Ramblers Retreat cafe in one direction and then in the village of Denstone in the other direction is the Denstone Hall Farm Shop and Cafe. All three places joined by the old Churnet Valley Railway Line which is a popular walking and cycling route.
Alton Towers is also on our doorstep. It provides lots of benefits to the village in many ways. The biggest for us as a family was employment for a teenager prior to going off to university. Residents passes are also available to our property.
Although it’s our time to move on we are sure that this house will make a happy home for the next owners."
