There is a very good reason these properties are so rarely available. They are the forever homes that people simply stay in for years and years.

Aside from the quiet road and peaceful setting, the house has some serious kerb appeal. The driveway will comfortably fit four cars and is surrounded by mature trees giving a sense of privacy.

A beautiful storm porch and stain glass window set the tone for this stunning property.

Stepping inside, the bright and airy entrance hallway has a lovely staircase leading up and lots of storage under the stairs, perfect to hide away coats, shoes etc. There is also a handy larder cupboard making great use of the space.

To the front is a stunning living room come snug which wouldn’t be out of place in a high-end property/lifestyle magazine. The gorgeous bay window floods the room with natural light and the feature fireplace could be opened back up if desired.
To the back of the property the house has been extended to create a large kitchen/ diner with adjoining family room, all of which open out onto the garden via bifold doors and double patio doors.

The luxury, bespoke kitchen includes tap with filtered drinking water and integrated dishwasher and cooker with extractor fan. The large window behind the sink perfectly frames the garden and with the addition of the Velux ceiling windows, the room gets plenty of natural light. Bold yet stylish pendant lighting above the peninsula bar area adds extra wow factor to the space.
The family area has a working log burner and study area with standing desk which has previously been used as a bar area when entertaining, making the space truly versatile and practical. Bi-fold doors lead out to the large, decked area of the garden.

Also next to the kitchen, the converted garage has made way for a practical and useful utility room with ample space and built in storage.
The front section remains a garage for additional storage and there is a rear lobby providing access from the garden to the front meaning garden waste does not need to be brought through the house.

The all-important downstairs toilet completes the ground floor.

The side extension over the garage has made way for the four double bedrooms yet it is so well done that it feels like it could have been originally built this way. Three of the bedrooms are a fairly equal size with two having fitted wardrobes.

The primary bedroom has a stunning fully tiled en-suite shower room, a full wall of Sharps fitted wardrobes and a lovely Porcelanosa built in headboard. Another stunning bay window, again, floods the room with light and character.

The family bathroom and gorgeous open landing complete the upstairs of the house.

Outside in the garden which is approx. 100ft in length, the charm continues. A large decking area across the entire width of the plot provides ample space to relax or entertain. There is a lawned area of the garden which then leads down to a private courtyard area with pergola and large insulated garden office and storage shed. There is light, power and a Cat 5 internet connection to the office making it ideal for working from home.

My favourite aspects are the amazing kerb appeal, stunning bay windows in the living room and primary bedroom, the practical family room/kitchen and privacy/space in the garden.

No compromises, that’s how we saw this house less than a year ago…It ticked every box and more. After years of moving this was to be our forever home.

Tree lined street, silence and peace , no road noise, no traffic, no noisy neighbours (these 1930’s houses are so well built and with additional soundproofing put to rest fears of buying a semi) plus the neighbours are lovely too.

Beautiful high end decor (newly renovated by the previous owners ) with bespoke kitchen and fabulous bathrooms, oodles of space - perfect for entertaining friends and our large family, fabulous storage in every room , wood burner for those cosy winter evenings, stunning large landscaped non overlooked garden (we love sitting on the deck watching the wind in the trees listening to the wildlife ) and a separate home office in the garden perfect for home working even when the kids are home from school.

What’s not to love….

Deciding to move has been the most heart wrenching decision but presented with the opportunity of a life time its one we make, paving the way for someone else to fall in love with this house like we did.

Location information

Ramsbury Drive is easily one of the best roads in Earley. Set off a private, access only road there is very little traffic passing by. The road
is tree lined and each house is as lovely as the next.

Within a five-minute walk you have amenities on the doorstep including a co-op, BP garage with M&S food shop, fish & chips takeaway
and the Three Tuns Pub. From here, there is the 17 bus stop which gives fast, regular access into Reading town centre with buses running every 7-8 minutes from the stop.
Earley train station which is on the Waterloo line can be reached in approx. 15 minutes on foot.

Within a 5-10 minute walk is Sol Joel park with its ample open green space/playing fields, wild gardens, enclosed children’s play park, basketball court and skatepark.

Other local nature spots to explore are Maiden Erlegh Lake with woodland at Laurel Park and The Harris Gardens on the University Whiteknights campus.

Maiden Erlegh and Aldrington schools are within a ten-minute walk and are a huge reason this area is so popular as both have excellent reputations.
