LOCATION: The historic village of Goudhurst is arguably one of Kent's highest and most picturesque Wealden villages. Goudhurst is dominated by the old Norman church overlooking the pretty High Street. The village has a fine selection of period Kent-peg tile and white weather-boarded properties that lead down the hill to the duck pond. There are a wide variety of friendly shops with good old-fashioned service including: a busy newsagent/ general store with a Post Office, a pharmacy, a bakery with a café, an antique shop, a designer boutique, two hairdressers, one of which has a beauty shop, a book shop and the tea and coffee emporium. There are four welcoming country pubs in Goudhurst with their own separate restaurants. In the centre of the village, Burgess Stores is open seven days a week from early till late, where one can purchase an excellent selection of fresh local produce, meat, cheeses and artisan bread; here can also be found a delicatessen and a well-stocked off licence. The village has a doctors' surgery, a veterinary surgery and a village hall. Goudhurst also has a petrol station, offering a much appreciated personal vehicle filling service plus MOT and general service/paint shop facilities. Our welcoming award winning estate agent's office sits opposite the renowned duck pond. Risebridge Farm is a much praised private, members only health club and a beauty shop. Bedgebury Forest offers many leisure activities such as cycling and a Go-Ape adventure course. Wonderful open-air concerts are held in Bedgebury Forest from pop to classical.

For a more comprehensive range of shopping facilities the towns of Cranbrook and Royal Tunbridge Wells are within easy driving distance. For the commuter there are mainline rail services from the nearby towns/villages of Paddock Wood, Marden and Staplehurst (London Bridge in approx. 50-55 minutes). The village also has its own excellent primary school plus a brilliant pre-school and is within the much favoured CRANBROOK SCHOOL CATCHMENT AREA.
