Beretun Old Barns is located on the edge of village of Newcastle on Clun, which offers an active community village hall, church and primary school. The property is within easy reach of the local towns of Newtown and Bishops Castle as well as having Craven Arms, Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Welshpool all within a manageable travelling distance, offering main and essential amenities. Although a remote location, there is a good mobile phone signal and a strong broadband connection. Whereas Beretun Old Barns, the main residence is semi-detached, the Wagon House, the annexe, is detached. Both are constructed of stone, with timber cladding under a tiled roof. The Wagon House is tied to main residence and is not permitted to be sold separately, however, it can be used as a full-time residence or a holiday cottage, if so desired. The property is situated within the popular Clun Valley, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and provides a tranquil and idyllic family residence with the added benefit of an additional income via the holiday cottage, if required, or a self-contained dwelling for a dependent relative or extended family. The property also sits close to the renown Offa’s Dyke footpath, together with many other public footpaths and bridleways. The historic village of Clun is situated approximately 5 miles away and offers a good range of local amenities to include a range of shops, public houses and cafes, a doctor’s surgery, a primary school, and bus services to neighbouring towns and villages, Clun is ideally placed and has a thriving local community, set in beautiful South Shropshire countryside, a destination for walkers, and it is of historic interest with ancient Clun Castle and museum. A wide range of state and independent schools are available in local vicinity, with preparatory, secondary and colleges all within an hours’ drive. The market town of Craven Arms, some 15 miles east, is a rural market town and parish situated amongst the South Shropshire countryside close to the Welsh borders and the Marches and is located on the A49 carriageway between Shrewsbury and Hereford and the heart of Wales railway line. The town lies in the valley of the River Onny on the edge of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town benefits from a railway station linking north to Shrewsbury, Crewe and Manchester, and south to Ludlow, Hereford, Cardiff and Swansea as well as local bus links. Local amenities include, a Post Office, Nursery and Primary Schools, a Doctors Surgery and Dental Practice, two Public Houses, a large Supermarket and many convenience stores amongst other light commercial businesses. The town is also a visitor destination being nearby to a number of attractions including the Secret Hills Discovery Centre, the famous Land of Lost Content Museum of Popular Culture, the fortified manor house of Stokesay Castle and the picturesque Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
