We fell in love with this delightful house because of its location and the contemporary design that makes the most of the wonderful views. Also the fact that it is a large house but on a small plot so the garden area is simple to look after which makes it an ideal weekend and holiday home. The fact that we are extremely close to the ferry at Fishbourne means that commuting is easy and we can be in London door to door in about two hours. We are only moving because our requirements have changed but are still staying nearby on the island and we hope that new owners will enjoy everything we have done to enhance the property since we moved here and feel that all they need to do is install their furniture.The nearby village of Wootton is a friendly community and includes local shops, a millpond, St Edmund's church that dates from the 11th century and the 150-year-old Sloop Inn, as well as the steam railway station and the Fernhill Icehouse, which is all that remains of the Fernhill estate that was destroyed by fire in 1938. There is also the Lakeside Hotel and Spa and a farm shop and café nearby. The excellent Ryde School with Upper Chine independent school is also less than half a mile.
