THE PROPERTY.
Bay House is a magnificent detached and contemporary residence which, with its simple, clean lines and exacting finish, is a statement of modern design. The house was designed in a way to make the very most of its glorious position, with all the principal rooms taking advantage of the spectacular sea and coastal views. The property is of block and timber framed construction with stone, rendered and vertical Canadian cedar clad elevations. Large expanses of aluminium double glazed windows and sliding doors open onto the balconies that run across the south and west elevations. This bespoke home offers a high level of energy efficiency and is heavily insulated, benefitting from air-source under floor heating and a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system, along with mains wired fire alarms and a sprinkler system.
The interior follows the same meticulous design and has been finished with a forensic attention to detail. There are many contemporary elements, yet with some more traditional features that add warmth and texture. These include the beautiful oak herringbone flooring in the living room and the superb oak and glass staircase. On the ground floor there is an entrance hallways that flows past the stair hall into a well fitted utility. There is also a plant room giving access into the integral garage, which has an electric door. On the first floor is the superb living/kitchen which is dominated by the breath-taking views through the large windows. This room has doors onto the balcony with its glass balustrade, and into the rear garden. The kitchen is certainly worthy of note and is particularly stylish with Quartz worktops and integral appliances, including a wine fridge. Also on the first floor are two bedrooms and a cloakroom. The principal bedroom lies on the second floor and is a wonderful space with a door onto the wrap-around balcony, and a luxurious en-suite shower room. There is also a superb bathroom and two further bedrooms, one of which also has direct access to the balcony.
The property sits at the head of Ferndown Road and is accessed through double timber gates which open onto a tarmac parking area which is bordered by flower and shrub beds. To the rear of the property is a lawned garden with a decked terrace, whilst to the south-west is a more natural area of ground that runs down to the South West Coast Path.
