Newly renovated detached spacious four double bedroom family home with large kitchen/dining room and two pairs of bi-fold doors leading out to the garden, and off street parking, situated on a quiet cul-de-sac in Peasedown St John, just 6.7 miles from central Georgian Bath.
We moved here in Summer 2019 and since then have remodelled the whole house, says the vendor. We enlarged the hall area by enclosing the porch, converted the garage into a teenage den/family room and opened up the back of the house to make a very sociable kitchen/dining room with two pairs of bi-fold doors which open out onto the southwest facing gardens. There is new flooring throughout with concrete tiles from London Tile Company which go through from the front door into the hall and kitchen/dining room and out onto the patio so that there is an indoor/outdoor feel. There is a new grey 80% wool carpet in the peaceful sitting room which has a bay window and a bespoke bath stone fireplace, designed to be simple but with a traditional feel. The study also has a new grey carpet, with dark grey radiator, and it is great that the teenagers have their own private space in here. The ceilings downstairs have been replastered and spotlights put in. The kitchen has also been remodelled. The peninsular unit has been moved out along the back wall so that the kitchen feels much more open, and it is ideal for entertaining. The dining room table seats ten and we have had many lovely parties in this welcoming space with family and friends. The Neptune kitchen units are painted in Neptune shale and there is a black quartz worktop, there is an electric oven with gas hob and integrated Neff dishwasher and integrated fridge. The Henley log burner provides a cosy focus in winter. This is a very sunny space, with two sets of bifold doors leading out to the garden. The garden was designed as a peaceful space to relax in. The back wall is painted black so that the flowers and shrubs pop with colour against this background. It is also a sensory garden with lavender and sweet peas by the patio. The fire on the patio means that we can extend the time that we spend outside, having a barbeque on November 5th and it was even lit one Christmas Day to toast marshmallows to have with our hot chocolates! There is a useful utility room on the ground floor with space for washing machine and fridge/freezer, and solar panels on the roof, which I own, provide an income. At the front there is parking for two cars, a raised bed and lawn with box balls at the edge of the grass.
Upstairs we have redone the family bathroom which has dark grey tiles and a Bluetooth illuminated mirror so the teenagers can listen to their music whilst relaxing in the bath. Bedroom Four is a nursery but accommodates a double bed and Bedroom Three has a mirrored wardrobe. Bedroom Two, like the previous two bedrooms all overlook the south-west facing garden and is painted in a subtle grey palette. The principal bedroom is at the front of the house with a lovely bay window overlooking the front garden. It is a very calm room with an en suite designed by a bathroom designer and put in last November, to provide the feel of a hotel bathroom with large walk-in shower and big mirror to increase the light there.
This is such a convenient location, with Tesco Express 0.6 miles away, as well as a Co-op, pharmacy, dentist, doctors surgery, hairdressers and pubs in the high street. There are stunning country walks from the house down to Wellow, the Wheatsheaf at Combe Hay and the Packhorse at Southstoke, as well as the Apple Tree in Shoscombe. There are also cycle paths and Farrington Farm shop is excellent. This peaceful location so close to open fields and lovely views, but only 6.7 miles from the centre of Bath and all that cultural centre has to offer has been ideal.
