My husband and I have spent the last 2 years lovingly working on every inch of our bright, sunny and characterful apartment. It's in a beautiful Victorian house with just one other flat (our lovely, quiet downstairs neighbour).
Some of our favourite things about the property are:
• How airy and spacious it is ? it's so much bigger than anything else we saw when looking! We love having lots of friends and family over and cooking for them in the kitchen-diner. The flat also has tons of storage space in the loft and under the stairs.
• Its huge, south-facing windows ? when I'm working from home, the sun hits my desk mid-morning and stays there all day.
• How private it feels ? because each house on the street is set back from the next it really doesn't feel (or sound) like a terrace. The views out are over gardens and trees, and we aren't overlooked at all.
• The original period features ? we've restored the hardwood floors throughout much of the flat and love the fireplaces and cornicing.
• The green spaces ? we have 3 separate parks within a 3-min walk, including the amazing Hilly Fields with its beautiful views.
• Its great transport connections ? Ladywell station is 3-min walk (direct to London Bridge, Waterloo and Charing Cross). Crofton Park is 10 mins away and goes direct to Victoria via Peckham/Camberwell. Add in Brockley and Lewisham stations (both a 15-20 min walk) and London is your oyster.
Ladywell Village is a real hidden gem. It's big enough to have everything you need but is truly a village, with some great cafes and the friendliest local shopkeepers. We love it so much that we couldn't bear to leave ? we're only moving to the next street!
