Thoroughly charming thatched cottage with a wonderful, large sitting room plus a sizeable main bedroom. The location is idyllic on a quiet lane near a Market square with a village pub, but still walkable to a station & a short drive to Bicester. This property will suit a single occupant as it is an annexe to the landlord's house, for a long term let. Unfurnished. Available 1st March.

Lower Heyford is a delightful village. Nestling in a valley with the River Cherwell parallel to the Oxford canal, farmland surrounds the village and the local scenery is wonderful. There is a good local school, a lovely old pub, local store, and access to all points of the compass is exceptional with the M40 and A34 close by and the Cherwell Valley railway line Heyford station within the village. For those looking for a rural existence combined with nearby access to all amenities, there are few better villages in North Oxfordshire. This property will suit a single occupant for a long term let.

The Wing is the annex part of a thoroughly beautiful thatched cottage typical of the type in this village. Sat well back from the lane, it's a quiet position on what is in any case a peaceful village lane. And once inside, the crucial principle spaces are excellent, with a huge living room with wide windows. In addition to which, views both front and rear are idyllic! Rental properties are rarely this interesting or this much fun...

The steps lead into a porch with ample space to the side for boots, coats etc. Up a couple of shallow steps, you come to the hallway. The kitchenette space on the right is well planned, with a range of modern units running down the width of the front wall. It contains a two ring hob and a combination microwave oven and air fryer (please note - it does not contain the usual free standing cooker). Behind it, the stairs run up to the first floor and underneath them is a deep store cupboard containing the washing machine. Further off to the right the bathroom is downstairs, typical of this sort of building, containing a bath that also has a shower over, complete with screen. Back past the kitchen you come to the sitting room. This would be a good size in a family house; so for an annex property it's enormous! A high ceiling gives it an even greater feeling of space than it has, but combine that with the wide window to the rear - in the centre of which is a tilt/slide door out to the garden - and it's an extremely bright and positive space as well. The herringbone wood block floor underneath also adds a further touch of warmth and character.

Up the stairs, the layout is unconventional but very useful. A landing space offers masses of space for storing all sorts but could be a study space if needed. And next to it is an ample walk-in wardrobe or dressing room! Either way, it's a bonus space with many practical uses. And to the rear the main bedroom is both fun and generous. The roof purlins run down either side, and the roof runs up into a peaked pitch overhead. It amounts to a really large bedroom, with the extra delight of a view across the gardens behind through trees.

Outside, to the rear, the garden is walled. In an effort to make life easy for the tenant, it has been prepared with a mix of gravel and border plants. Completely secluded and facing South, it is a wonderful sun trap that must be a delightfully calm place to wine and dine in the summer.
