There is a mainline rail station between Kings Lynn and Kings Cross which operates through Ely Rail Station. Soham is also served by a regular bus service which runs between Cambridge and Bury St. Edmunds.

Soham offers a plethora of shops and local facilities ranging between independent retailers and chain stores which include various takeaway`s offering a range of cuisine, five different public houses, several hair and beauty salons, various grocery shops (including ASDA), a pharmacy, bank, post office, bakers, etc. The village also operates a range of clubs and sporting activities and the well renowned Soham carnival is a yearly event in the village which draws people in from the surrounding area, bringing the whole community together.
